A Simple Prayer to Receive Christ

Here is a simple prayer to receive Christ by faith.  If you would like to be God's child, it's so simple to talk to Him and tell Him what's on your heart.  (I heard Joseph Prince pray this prayer in a video, and I thought it was so simple and beautiful..) -

"Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin.  You are my Lord and Savior, now and forever.  I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are alive today.  Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God and heaven is my home.  Thank You for giving me eternal life and filling my heart with Your peace and joy.  Amen!"

Welcome to the family! You are so beloved, wanted, and special to God and always will be!  He has wanted you in His family forever and has planned for you being with Him since before time began!  He has made you His very own dear child, permanently in His embrace!  You are a whole new person, just like being born all over again!  Now Christ's very nature of love is your nature - your heart is good!  And you are perfectly holy, so holy that you are called God's holy temple! God's own Holy Spirit has taken up residence in You forever, and you are forever His, cleansed, righteous with Christ's own righteousness, perfect, complete, accepted and cherished in His sight.  He will always take care of you.  He will provide your every need.  He crushes all the darkness and sends it away with the light of His presence, which is with you always!  He will never leave you or forsake you.  You never face anything alone again!  And you have Christ's authority over the enemy and are more than a conqueror no matter what!  The devil can't get his hands on you, ever!!  You are on top of the world in Christ!  You are free from trying, striving to measure up, feeling lacking and messed up - you are perfect forever!  Any old feelings of imperfection or self-effort are just lies from the enemy, not the thoughts of the real, true you - the old has gone, the new has come!  And nothing is required of you - you are already holy and pleasing and complete, and Jesus will live that completeness out of you, the Spirit naturally bringing forth love- fruit without your effort at all! You are in God's grace and in God's rest!  You can dance, sing and shout!  You are set, home free, and have the most glorious future you could imagine - God will spend all eternity lavishing His love and kindness on you!  You are all you were meant to be - and where He always wanted you to be - in His arms as His very own beloved and precious child, totally accepted, understood and taken in, forever!

  1. I love what Bertie Brits said in a recent teaching... he said that when he was 17 years old, he attended a conference and responded to the "altar call"... there were other young teenagers who also responded and they formed small groups where they were ministered to. Bertie was not led to join one of these groups but he stood at the side of the platform and said, "God, I don't know if these other guys are serious or not... but I am!" And with that simple statement he received the free Gift of Jesus and was not only saved but Jesus baptized him in the Holy Spirit. Ahhhh, the simplicity of the Gospel!

  2. Anon, that is so beautiful! Yes, I agree, it is so simple that a child could understand..we have sometimes complicated what God always meant to be so simple and easy..just as easy as seeing a gift is yours and saying 'thank You, Papa!'

  3. I love everything about this welcoming speech to the Family of God and the fact that I am now completely free and I can boldly go before my Papa God and ask him anything free from condemnation..Glory..Thank you for the Salvation Prayer as simple as it is..It has blessed my soul!

  4. I love how you put that, Ritha, it's a 'welcoming speech'- beautiful! I so agree, it's wonderful to be free to go to Him and talk about anything, anytime, free from condemnation, yay!

May the amazing grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, and the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. 2 Co. 13:14
