A Life of Rest

A friend of mine recently made this statement:  "Just as He was with His Father, our Father, we are always with Him... That's how close we are with Him.  All we must do is to just know!  Just simply know where we are..."

Or as Bertie Brits says:  "We have been made complete in Jesus and need nothing but to be conscious of this truth."

It's helpful to remember the truth, know where we are - in HIM who loves us and made us complete.  Yet even that remembering is a gift.  God will bring it about.  He will renew our mind to the truth.  He will whisper His love songs and make us to hear.  He will cause our hearts to gaze at Him.  He will MAKE His face to SHINE UPON US!

Truly, we are ever with Him.  Truly, we are one with Him!  Truly, we are ever beholding Him in our spirit and we already know all things, and He is simply bringing that to conscious awareness. And whenever we don't understand, sense, feel, trust or have consciousness of His presence, that doesn't change the FACT that He is still in us and we are still in Him.  We don't have to even be aware of it for it to be true!  And our union with Him is having an effect on our lives, whether we are aware of it or not.

Therefore, we can rest!  He is taking care of helping us understand our union with Christ.  He is taking care of our whole Christian life.  He is living in us and keeping us.  And if He's doing it all, it's complete.  It's perfect.  It's done!  The life of a Christian is so wonderful!  It is so much more beautiful and restful than I ever imagined. Whether we know it or not, whether we believe it or not, whether we feel it or not, whether we understand it or not, we are the Beloved of God, and we are in His arms.  We have been since the day we first received Christ.  That's true no matter what we do (sin or not), no matter what happens (good or bad), no matter what!  Resting in the Lover's arms, that's where all of us are today!

                               With love,

May the amazing grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, and the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. 2 Co. 13:14
