"If any such lover be in earth which is continually kept from falling, I know it not: for it was not shewed me. But this was shewed: that in falling and in rising we are ever preciously kept in one Love."
Julian of Norwich (Ch. 82)
Children sometimes do well and sometimes fail. They sometimes show love and sometimes fall into negativity towards others. But they are always loved by their parents. They are always part of the family They always belong. They are always special and valued and cared for. Their identity as children of those parents never changes, no matter what they do. They are held in their parents' love always. That love is a constant.
So it is with us in God's kingdom of love. We are the family of God, children that are beloved and precious. We belong. We are always part of the family. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we fail, but our identity as God's beloved children never changes. We are always special and valued and cared for. God our Father has a love for us that is permanent, and we are held and kept in that steadfast love. We can relax and feel safe, because we truly are safe. We are safe in the love of God.
"Family fondness remains the essence of this kingdom."
