Immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus (from Ephesians 2, The Message).
Why did God save us? What is our purpose? Why did He recreate us and bring us into His family? I guess for the same reason a couple brings a child into the world, the same reason a man marries a woman - for love!
His ultimate purpose for us is to love us. What He wants to do with our lives is to love us. His goal for our existence is to love us. The reason He wants us around is to love us. Not to use us. Not to enslave us. Not to boss us around. Not to change us. To love us.
We are in a love dance with our Lover, Jesus. We're dancing with Him in the fields of grace. And as we dance, that love is transforming us and also spilling out to others, attracting them to their own love dance with Him. That is the beautiful overflow, but it isn't the "main event." The main event is Jesus being with us in our own special dance of love right now and now and now. For each of us, there are only two people in the universe at this moment - Lover and Beloved. We're captured by His gaze, held in His embrace. He is swirling us around and showering us with unconditional love like we've dreamed of all our lives.
He saved us to be kind to us forever! What a wonderful Savior! Hope you enjoy the dance..
