"And in this time I saw a body lying on the earth, which body shewed heavy and horrible, without shape and form....And suddenly out of this body sprang a full fair creature, a little Child, fully shapen and formed, nimble and lively, whiter than lily; which swiftly glided up to heaven."
Julian of Norwich (Ch. 64)
Christ will take us away from all pain, sickness, sorrow and trouble and will bring us up to heaven. We will be freed from all that and will be seen to be the pure, sweet, holy and whole little children that we have always been inside. Through all the trouble, trauma, sickness, fear, struggle, sadness and strife we have had on earth, our inner self remained intact, held in wholeness by Christ Himself. And when freed from the bodily constraints of existence here on earth, our inner self will simply exist in God as the whole and perfect being it was created to be and is. God has always seen and known our true inner person, even though we may not have always been able to. Dwelling in the body, we have felt the troubles and pains and anxieties and struggles of bodily life here on earth. But our inner person has remained well and whole, at peace and in love. God has preserved our true nature and through the work of the Son, this true nature has begun to be expressed on earth. And we know that one day it will be fully expressed in heaven. What a relief to know that all the terrible things that have happened to us on earth haven't really damaged who we are deep down. That inner child has not been lost. That inner child is still there, held in the arms of God. That inner child is fair and pure, white as a lily. That inner child, one with Christ, is always safe, holy, lovely, thriving and whole. That inner child is full of resurrection life. That inner child will live with Christ forever, and Christ assures us that even the body that was so damaged on earth will transformed to new life as a heavenly body, in Christ. So no part of us will be lost. How wonderful is our Savior and our salvation!
"Even if our physical body is wearing away, our inner person is being renewed day by day."
2 Corinthians 4:15 (NET)
"He renews your youth - you're always young in his presence."
Psalm 103:5 (MSG)
A Prayer: Outside I may be weak, but inside I am strong and well and thriving with Your fullness of life!
